Brew #2: Strong Scotch Ale

Brew day this Sunday!  The Scotch Ale with peat-smoked malt came in a close second in our voting, so we'll be brewing that on Sunday.  Hope you can make it up for a brew day!  For those who haven't yet picked up their Session IPA from the last brew, this would be a good time to come and get it - they're going fast!

Here's the recipe for the Strong Scotch Ale:

batch size: 5 gal
boil size: 7.22 gal
final bottling volume: 4.6 gal
brewhouse efficiency: 70%
estimated original gravity: 1.082 SG
estimated ABV: 7.7%
estimated IBU: 21.1
estimated color: 19.3 SRM

Grains:
13.5 lbs Golden Promise Malt
1.25 lbs Briess Victory Malt (28 SRM)
10 oz British caramel malt (70/80 SRM)
3 oz roasted barley (550 SRM)
3 oz peated malt

Hops:
6.9 AAU Willamette hops - boil 60 min

Yeast:
SLP028 Edinburgh Scottish Ale Yeast - 1.5 L starter
